Welcome to the Office of Academic Orientation and Advisement
AASU's Office of Academic Orientation & Advisement serves as a
caring, friendly home base to many groups of students on campus.
Not only do we serve undeclared students—those who have not yet decided
on a major—but we also teach the University’s student success courses,
coordinate the Freshman Learning Communities, advise all Joint
Enrollment students who take classes here while in high school, assist
with freshman orientation programs, coach students who are struggling
academically, and counsel students as they explore potential majors and
careers.
Our goal is to help students discover their interests, make the most of
their abilities, and utilize campus resources so that they can graduate
with the degree that will allow them to pursue their dreams. Whether
we are advising a student about course selection for the next semester,
referring a student to a reference librarian, explaining a campus
policy, or providing a pep talk before exam week, we are here to help
students overcome obstacles and take responsibility for their
education. We stand ready to help students continue on the path to
graduation.
If you or a student you know needs support or guidance, consider the
Advisement Office. One of our professional staff will help you come to
terms with your skills and interests, discover new options and campus
resources, and take another step toward reaching your academic goals.
